All right. Happy Hump Day Hustle. I’m glad you guys – you know, I promised myself I was going to stop spinning in this chair, because I know it’s distracting – normal deal. Let me hit the start button, so I don’t keep you guys too long. This is Danny with DannyandLeta.com. I’m going to talk a little bit about the S word. What in the world is the S word? I’ll get to it in just a second.
It has to do with how we’re spreading the word about our business, and what we’re doing and all that, and how it matters how we do that. And, more specifically, why it matters so much who we chat with about it. I want to get some of your ideas if you don’t mind. If you’re here online, type if in the bar below a couple of ways that you like to prospect, and I want to see.
I’m going to guess most people do it on social media, but there’s a right and a wrong way to do it on social media. What that S word is, it’s spamming – the spam word. A lot of folks get into the business, and they think, “Shoot.” And they’re told a lot of times by their upline, “Just talk to anybody with a pulse and let them know what you’re doing, and you’ll build a team.” That’s not necessarily the case because not everybody you talk to give a care about what you’re doing and about your business.
When I mention the word spam, what’s happening is, a lot of folks will get into the business, and then they’ll get on social media, and they’ll start spamming whatever company they’re in to their friends and family and even strangers. What ends up happening is, they come across, and they’re trying to sell, and the people they’re chatting with are like, “All they’re trying to do is make me join their team or buy their stuff.” That’s not what you want to do.
I want to touch a little bit on the right way, the way we like to do it, and it’s definitely not by spamming and wasting a bunch of time and money trying to go belly-to-belly with folks. What we’re finding is, and we haven’t been doing it that long. We’re no genius experts, but as we start to initiate different skills and skill sets that we learn, we’re getting better responses.
Not everybody is ready to jump on board and want something to do with what we’re a part of, but what’s happening in the process is, we’re helping folks, and that’s mainly what we’re here to do. We’re not here to sell you on anything. We’re not here to get you to join something. We’re here to relay stuff that we learned that can help you in your business.
We just simply reach out to folks. We know how to target and get in front of people that are already in our world, in our home business arena. That way, we’re not just trying to yippee up to anybody with a pulse. The better we get at that, the better responses we’re getting. A clear comparison is this, as we wind down. You’ve got spamming, and then you’ve got marketing.
Business is network marketing, and it’s a business. It’s not a leisure deal where you can get in, and you’re going to make a million dollars in a year. Don’t fool yourself. I digress. We can get into a video like that later on as well – real expectations when you get into a business.
It’s network marketing, so you’ve got to market your business just like roofers and concrete guys and drywallers and home builders. All these businesses out there, they have to market their business. Just because they have a storefront doesn’t mean that the people there need to do business with know that they’re there, and they’re just going to show up and want to do business with them – same thing here.
We have to get strategic and smart about where we put our business and talents and what we’re offering and make sure we’re doing that in front of the right people. Then, that way, we’re spending less time dealing with rejection – well, you don’t deal with any rejections. You’re not trying to twist any arms or whatever. So, that helps out a lot of our conversations and helps our stress factor.
